Quick start guide
You'll be live in under 48 hours. This guide walks through connecting your accounts, setting your preferences, and starting the 30-day challenge.
Step 1: Connect your accounts

Connect your bank accounts
Settings → Connections → Add Bank. Select your bank and authenticate with your online banking credentials. This creates a read-only connection through Plaid. Takes about 3 minutes per bank.

Connect QuickBooks or Xero
Settings → Connections → Add Accounting. Authorize NovaBiz to read your chart of accounts, transactions, and reports. NovaBiz imports 12 months of history to build a baseline understanding of your business.

Connect payroll (Gusto, ADP, or Paychex)
Settings → Connections → Add Payroll. Select your provider and authorize. NovaBiz reads your payroll schedule, employee list, and historical runs to set up PayrollAI.

Our onboarding team reviews your setup
Within 48 hours of connecting your accounts, our team reviews your setup, configures the AI for your industry and business type, and reaches out with any questions. You don't need to configure anything.
Step 2: Set your approval thresholds
Go to Settings → Thresholds. This defines what NovaBiz can do automatically versus what requires your approval in CommandInbox. Most businesses start with:
Auto-approve: All transactions under $500, all recurring vendor payments, all scheduled payroll runs, all tax set-asides
Require approval: New vendor relationships, any transaction over $500, any changes to payroll, any contract or legal action
Step 3: Start the 30-day challenge
Once your accounts are connected, the 30-day challenge begins automatically. The savings dashboard on your home screen tracks every dollar saved in real time. You don't need to do anything — just check in occasionally to see the savings stack up.
On day 30, you'll receive a challenge summary report comparing documented savings to our invoice. If savings exceed cost — you're already set up. If they don't, contact [email protected] for your refund.
